OK, I need suggestions as to what kind of toys (heh heh) to take on an investigation. What do you think would be useful or come in handy and why?

I guess I will state the obvious (also, the only tools I have Rolling Eyes )...I really enjoy the voice recorders...and of course, digital camera! Though, I would get a good recorder...mine was cheap and I am convinced it hates me.

I think it depends on what you go after. If it is ufo's then a warm body. Modern ghost hunting is more involved.

I think we should bring a video camera as well. We might find some cool things on that!

Yeah I was half tempted to pull out the cell phone and just have it record. I am sure there would have been something there. I can't wait to get in there with all of our stuff and really find some neat things.

I bet Curtis was freaked out when he had to go up there and lock up all by himself. Funny how we think it's cool but it scares the s**t out of others! Laughing

As for quality and price I love Olympus products. I have an olympus Stylus 600 and for under 200 dollars on E-bay it's really worth the penny! It has bright capture technology (making pictures that more visual in the dark places). In graveyards where I would get one tombstone and maybe the grass I now get the background too! Also I've been getting 60% more orbs for some reason (unfortunately a lot more dust as well). It also has a quicker shutter speed (which would account for more orbs). Unfortunately the only draw back (and a good thing as well) is that the view screen is 2 inches wide on the back (great for the blind people) but it's also uber bright (which has made me blind oh too many times). Honestly as awesome as digital cameras go I always believe in the good and true 35 mm cameras with high speed film. For now it's faster then digital and you catch more things but of course it's gets costly with the film developing. Also you have the negatives so people will believe you more. As with digital you can always manipulate the product a lot more. I also was using Olympus voice recording products. I had vn-1800 where I would get a lot of good things but the drawback was it doesn't have a usb port on it so I couldn't transfer data to my computer (I have a kick ass indian chant from the lehi Hutchings Museum I can't get onto the computer). Right now I purchased an Olympus DS-2 recorder...60 bucks on ebay...and not only does it hold 18 hours of data (versus 2 hours on low mode on my old) but it also records in stereo! Some old recorders only record in mono sound and makes it hard to listen for evps. Those are my tools. I hate carrying around anything more also I'm technologically impaired in other things. Also I'm a goof ball and it's really hard for me to concentrate on things as it is lol. :D Digital thermometors and emf detectors are also good though I personally hate using them. If you have a bit of extra cash try investing in a camcorder that records in night vision or can detect heat. Our group just recently purchased one but the real test will be put when we do the union station investigation this month. Well that's my equiptment testimony! Hope that helps a bit.

Thanks for the suggestions, MonkeyGirl. I have a nice 35mm Canon and a digital recorder with a USB port. I also have a digital Canon. That's about it right now.
